#OUaTrevisit: S7:E5/6

I was a bit more engaged with this week’s episodes than last week’s, but I’m mostly just interested in how these stories are going to wrap up. Will Lucy succeed in getting Henry to believe and wake up? What happens if she does? Will Ivy/Drizella get her comeuppance or will she earn herself a Regina-esque happy ending?

S7:E5 Greenbacks

“Tiana seeks help from soothsayer Dr. Facilier.”
Airdate: November 3, 2017

• Spotted in credits: Robin Givens. I bet she plays Tiana’s mom.
• “My tea, my special brew.” Is the imprisoned expositorian the Queen of Hearts?
• Today’s lesson: lock in the lease. None of this month-to-month nonsense.
• Not super into this version of the Tiana story really.
• Eyeroll at the helpless princess trope.
• Roni wearing the CBGB shirt!!

RIP

• I have a great idea of how we can make money and escape Victoria forever! Have you ever heard of Onlyfans?
• Pleasure Island, salt mine, jackasses, I see what they’re doing.
• Running the side baking business out of the chicken joint is going to come back to bite them.
• Okay, Facilier’s outfit is great.
• Magic always comes with a price.
• Victoria is not a nice mom.
• Hopefully, Victoria isn’t tapping Ivy’s phone.

You got a burn notice, Henry, you’re blacklisted.

• Who leaves their phone behind when they leave the bar?
• Coming soon to New Orleans Square: Tiana’s beignets.
• Good line from Marius there about the legs half off. I feel like it’s a ruse though.
• Wreck-it Ralph??

Ralph should have been played by John C. Reilly.

• A commercial kitchen will have automatic fire extinguishers. And tons of portables. Implausible that it would take out the whole building.
• Marius just stole the medal, obviously. What a cad.
• “I’m a man and my true love is…” a hawk?

This only works if Rutger Hauer’s true form is a frog.

• Roni successfully manipulates Ivy into giving away Victoria’s secret. (It was made up by a dude)
• Huh, I wonder what’s in that photo.
• This ruby is going to set him free. Speaking of which, I miss Ruby.
• I’m not sure you can effectively convert a box truck into a food truck. Better to buy one surplus or from the impound lot.
• “Huh.”
• Ugh, just awful, Victoria.
• Baby Henry with the Tron lunchbox.
• (Clever girl)
• Ooh, she knows! IvyDrizella knows exactly what’s going on.

S7:E6 Wake-Up Call

“Roni seeks Weaver’s help in finding answers.”
Airdate: November 10, 2017

• That’s two “seeks help” in two episodes.
• The opening has Rapunzel’s tower in Seattle. Clever.
• It’s clobbering time!

Back in 2017, Disney hadn’t secured the Fantastic Four rights yet.

• “If I were the Evil Queen…”
• Forest Realm Regina’s outfit: 🔥
• “You’re pretty good in a fight, we could use you.”

Don’t everybody thank me at once.

• #Drunkoween
• Ivy is NOT on your side.
• Bella Notte pizza in the alley with stray dogs. Basically, they’re in the final season and dropping in as many last Disney references as possible.
• Today Roni is wearing a killer Rick James tee.
• “Be charming and don’t slouch.”
• Feed me, Seymour!
• “I know what it’s like to live with a controlling mother” Oh yes she does, but this is just a dumb Drizella plan to get something from Regina.
• Could the Mysterious Captive be Mother Gothel? If not, then who?
• “Say Anything” meme FTW. “A little New Order, a little Adam Ant.”

Henry has always had good taste in music.

• It’s a John Hughes cute scene and I like it.
• Lucy was just expecting to find the book in her closet because it happened that way once before.
• “I can’t believe it!” “That is why you fail.” Unfortunately, Drizella is no Luke.
• WeaverRumple is definitely awake. His micro-expression changed when Roni asked about Regina Mills.
• “Things are always more fun when you start in the middle.”
• Rumple makes a very good point about Tremaine. She’s letting Drizella learn magic to make her heart more suitable for replacement.
• Gregor was the man Drizella was supposed to marry, right? I’d forgotten.
• Ohh is Drizella going to cast the Dark Curse? Pretty clever misdirection making us think it was Tremaine.
• What did IvyDrizella put in Roni’s drink?
• And now Regina is awake. And Drizella put a failsafe into the curse. “Something terrible” happens if it’s broken.
• Lana is so good in these two scenes.
